Write your story: Create your story in StoryForge and release it to the public.

Lock your chapters: Choose which chapters you want to monetize by marking them as Locked. Remember, if your story is ongoing, you can lock chapters as you go! Leave at least one chapter free. A story only becomes shareable if it has at least one genuinely free chapter. So an author can't publish a story that's paid from the very first page, there's always a free sample!

Choose your price: Set one Credit price for the entire story! You can choose from nine pricing options between 2 and 20 Credits.

Readers get a preview: Readers can see locked chapters in your Table of Contents and read the first three paragraphs as a preview. They can also access the chapters you have chosen to remain free.

They unlock your story: One Credit payment gives them permanent access to every locked chapter in that story, including locked chapters you publish in the future!

You get paid!: Most of the Credits from their purchase are added to your account, where you can use them on StoryForge or cash them out for real money!
