StoryForge Adventures
What Is StoryForge Adventures?
StoryForge Adventures is a literary-inspired live-play RPG or a TTRPG if we had a table we could all sit around. It was born out of the idea that StoryForge celebrates storytelling of all types, not just writing a book. Some of us can write, some of us can tell a winding epic about adventurers trying to preserve the spirit of creativity all while rolling a lot of Natural 1’s.
What System Is StoryForge Adventures Running?
This is our own custom homebrew system! The closest approximation would be D&D 5E with a few other features built in. It doesn’t have a name so if you have an idea for a name, let us know. All the different skills and abilities have a literary twist to them. StoryForge is a writing website so it only made sense to tie them all together.
What Are Creativity Points?
The players can earn them through various means including Natural 20’s and Natural 1’s. Players can store up to 10 points at a time total but they have some uses. Players can use two points to add +2 to a roll or use four points to give themselves advantage on a roll. The catch? They have to explain the creative way they’ve come up with that gives them those advantages.
There will be other uses for them later…
What World Does StoryForge Adventures Take Place In?
Our adventure takes place on the continent of Libraria. It begins in Season 0 (originally a one-shot) on the small island of New Fiction City. After the events of Season 0, well, we’ll see once our intrepid adventurers figure out how to break free.
Where Can I Find More Lore?
We have some on our main writing website which you can find here! Learn about things such as The War, Techno-Organics, and more!

The Players
Taria
Taria has a heart of gold and a significant lack of common sense. Or maybe situational awareness. Or both.
She grew up in Pagewood as the middle child of her family. As per traditions in Pagewood, she was expecting to enter a life of military service. After the return of an older sibling thought long dead, she instead found herself shuffled off to the monastery instead. The Monks of the Written Word found Taria to have beautiful penmanship, however, her spelling was absolutely atrocious and managed to sufficiently garble the holy texts she was tasked with copying.
Needless to say, the copying process became more efficient when Taria finally departed on an adventure.
Kavi
Kavi is a lesser known author of 3 books (I’m Bad At Titles, Artificial, and When It Falls) who enjoys giving her experiences more of a dramatic flair. She writes primarily off of experiences, as mentioned prior, thus leading her into some interesting situations. For example, she had become a mage solely because she wished to understand the struggles of honing magic for her beloved book boyfriend... uhh... he doesn't have a name yet, but he's beloved.
Despite often having her nose in a book, Kavi is a powerful Word Wizard who can fling spells with the best of them. She has been known to try and bonk a baddie when the situation calls for it, but it doesn’t tend to go well for her.
Animated Shorts
Scarlet
Sold into slavery as a young child, Scarlet found herself forcibly converted to a techno-organic soldier. Equipped with a third eye, enhanced legs, fangs, and the ability to spit acid, she served as a Quill Quester for several years during The War. After hostilities ceased she fell into adventuring.
Now after several years in prison, her high-tech implants have been taken from her and replaced with stock items. Her third eye gone and her thirst for freedom is overwhelming. In her attempts to escape, she trained with both Taria and Kavi to learn swordplay and magic. Now as Scarlet leaves her Quill Quester skills behind to embrace being a Spelling Knight, she also looks to leave her techno-organic past behind as well.
Kartik
Kartik never really wanted to go adventuring but well, here he is.
Overly timid, this catfolk served an unknown master during The War. He and a team of others spent time programming and converting regular folks to techno-organics, often against their wills. He had hoped to find a place to live our his remaining years in quiet but nope. The other three lunatics in this group just won’t leave him alone.
There’s more to this Quill Quester than meets the eyes. However, some time in prison and the loss of his arm keyboard have drastically shaken him at this point.
