Welcome Kaitovalour
Kaitovalour joined Storyforge in September 2025. Their profile displays ten stories and an awesome celestial-themed library. They answered our tremendous twelve and we’re going to dive into it.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing for about 4 years. I started out writing when I was 14 on Google Docs.
What genre or style of writing do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy writing fantasy and science fiction the most but I dabble in different formats and like to include dystopian and horror aspects.
Why did you start writing?
I started writing because stories were my passion and special interest. My parents put me in a summer creative writing class that showed me that writing didn’t have to be academic and torturous.
What gets your creative juices going?
A quiet environment surrounded by like-minded people with a cup of hot chocolate has always been my favorite way to start a writing session.
Do you have a process? If so, which part do you think is the linchpin that makes it work for you?
I work on two different processes. I either start with a world system and build a story to explore it or I start with a group of characters and build a story around them. The best way I ensure I keep writing is to plot the story out in sections.
Who inspires you to be your best?
My friends and community inspire me to keep writing. Finding other people who are happy, enjoying themselves while engaging in my art fills my heart with joy.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
One book I think that everyone should read is I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison.
What draws you in as a reader?
I love immersing myself in interesting worlds when I read stories. Good world-building is the key to my heart as a reader
Why do you think StoryForge is a good place for creatives?
Storyforge is a good place for creatives since it puts a lot of the writing process all in one place. As a place built by creatives, it’s one of the best platforms I’ve had the pleasure of using.
What has been your favorite Quill purchase so far?
My favorite Quill purchases I’ve made are pieces of the Maisie library collection. I check the shop every so often to make sure I have them all.
Which genre tags excite you when you see a new WIP posted in the reading section of the site?
I’ve found myself getting excited finding the horror tag in works.
