Introducing Poetraven
Poetraven has been a StoryForge member since November 2025. At the time of this post, she has ten stories posted on the StoryForge site. We sent over our tremendous 12 questions for her, and here is what she had to say.
How long have you been writing?
I have been writing since I was about 12 to 13 years old.
When did you first learn about Storyforge?
I learned about it from my school’s English teacher.
What genre or style of writing do you enjoy doing?
I love the type of style where I write from my heart and draw tears.
Why did you start writing?
I had a lot of inside pain from losing my grandma and I felt there was no way of getting anyone to listen other than through my words that I write.
What gets your creative juices going?
My memories, thoughts, feelings, and being able to talk to those who get my mood to go up and give me ideas on what exactly to write.
Do you have a process? If so, which part do you think is the linchpin that makes it work for you?
No I do not, I honestly just follow my heart and it never leads me wrong when I write.
Who inspires you to be your best?
My grandmother always has, even when she is gone, she is not even truly gone…She is there through my writing.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
Oh definitely, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green because if you want a book that is a hooking type and relatable to some, that book is for you; it is guaranteed.
What draws you in as a reader?
The one main thing that draws me in as a reader is a book that is so relatable that I just nod saying “mmhmmm”.
Why do you think StoryForge is a good place for creatives?
It is a safe place and you can find others who match your specific vibe and never judge you.
What has been your favorite Quill purchase so far?
The storyforge circle that I have; “Poems”. I have so many plans for my circle and I didn’t think my circle would turn out to have 29 members but it feels so right because the members love poems just like I do. It means a lot to be able to meet many who love the type of genre that I do.
Which genre tags excite you when you see a new WIP posted in the reading section of the site?
I definitely love when it is a mystery, because one of my best friends and I have always chosen that genre to talk about and we are so close because of that.
Poetraven’s Final Thoughts
